The 2021 MLB All-Star Game is underway Tuesday night at Coors Field in Denver. It's the 91st edition of the Midsummer Classic and finishes off this year's All-Star festivities following Sunday's Futures Game and Monday's Home Run Derby. Here's how to watch.
Angels two-way star Shohei Ohtani has already made history by becoming the first player voted into the All-Star Game as both a hitter and a pitcher. Fans voted him as the AL's starting DH and the players voted him in as a pitcher. Ohtani started on the mound and at DH, and MLB is bending the rules so the AL doesn't lose the DH when Ohtani exits the game as a pitcher. Here are Tuesday night's full starting lineups, with Max Scherzer starting for the National League. The Brewers, Dodgers, Red Sox, and Padres lead the way with five All-Stars each. Righty Germán Márquez is the lone representative for the host Rockies.
Tuesday's game marks the fifth time a National League team has hosted the All-Star Game since 2014. The AL leads the all-time series 45-43-2. As far as runs scored, the AL leads 373-370. The AL has won seven straight All-Star Games and 11 of the past 14, so the side will go for its eighth straight win on Tuesday. The last NL win was at Kansas City's Kauffman Stadium in 2012.
