Sando's Pick Six: One trade too many for Rams? Aaron Rodgers' future, Vic Fangio's present, Ravens' edge and more - The Athletic

It’s probably a good thing for the Los Angeles Rams’ remaining discretionary assets — you know, the first-round pick they hold in 2024, and the espresso machine in the break room — that the NFL trade deadline has passed. Who knows what blockbuster the Rams might otherwise dream up after enduring a humbling 28-16 defeat to the Tennessee Titans in prime time Sunday?

The Rams’ latest big-name acquisition, Von Miller, did not play in the game. He wouldn’t have made much difference unless he could have blocked Jeffery Simmons and the rest of the Titans’ defensive front, which knocked the Rams’ other big-name acquisition this year, quarterback Matthew Stafford, halfway back to Detroit. The Rams did get an interception from their biggest acquisition of 2020, Jalen Ramsey, but this game was hardly the showcase it could have been for the most aggressive front office in the game.

The Pick Six column leads this week by laying out the Rams’ many Sean McVay-era trades and considering whether the organization has made one trade too many after acquiring the 32-year-old Miller from Denver in the biggest deadline deal of 2021.
